ANDRES PEÑA – COLOMBIA

VIP OPENING RECEPTION – MINI BANDEJA PAISA

– Friday July 12 – 6 pm (Daniels Spectrum)

Raised in a Colombian household with an appetite for Latino and Caribbean food, Andrés studied culinary management at George Brown college. Upon graduating, he honed his skills across prominent kitchens in Toronto, developing his expertise in the restaurant business. When the opportunity to open a Latin restaurant with Steve Gonzalez arose, he didn’t hesitate—he became Steve’s Sous Chef at Valdez restaurant and then again at Baro restaurant. Following Baro, Andres deepened his culinary and leadership skills, developing a reputation as a fair chef in the  restaurant industry. After the pandemic, he was fortunate to explore his passion for food but with a focus on creating healthy and nutritional menus to empower the Latin and Caribbean communities to live an optimal lifestyle. With his new business, “Chotorro’s kitchen”, Andrés says he’s here to make healthy taste great!
